Briar Cliff University
Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program
The Briar Cliff University OTD Program is a developing program that is currently in the pre-candidacy review stage of accreditation. The program is slated to submit their accreditation candidacy application to ACOTE in August 2022. The BCU OTD program anticipates the ability to start reviewing student applications in the Fall of 2022 and to start accepting students into the program by January 2023. The anticipated start date for the first OTD student cohort is in June 2023.
The developing OTD program aligns with the mission and values of the larger Briar Cliff University institution. Located in Sioux City, Iowa, Briar Cliff University’s Mission is to promote a community committed to higher education with a liberal arts and Catholic perspective. Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program
Employment of occupational therapists is projected to grow 18% from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for most professions (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2019). St. Ambrose University
Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program
Occupational Therapy education at St. Ambrose University began in 1989 at the Bachelors level offering a B.S. in OT degree. The curriculum transitioned to the MOT level in 1998 and to the OTD level in 2016.
The St. Ambrose University Doctor of Occupational Therapy program develops ethical, innovative, and sensitive health professionals engaged in life-long learning who serve as socially responsive individuals dedicated to optimizing the occupational participation of others in a diverse and global society.
