IOTA Membership
IOTA is a membership-based organization that works to build the capacity of its members through education, research and communication.
The IOTA acts as a public advocate for Occupational Therapy to promote the viability of the profession and access to services.
If you are an Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Student in an Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant program, we welcome you to not just join your state organization but to become engaged in the networking, professional development, and advocacy that is occurring.
The IOTA members have added a retired membership category. Practitioners that are 55 years or old and no longer practicing in occupational therapy can join for a $15 annual fee. Consider a membership to support ongoing efforts for occupational therapy practitioners in Iowa.
There are many benefits to being a member of your state profession.
Current dues are $70/year for OT; $40 for OTA; $25 /year for students. We also have 3‑year dues ($205 for OT; $115 for OTA).
Your IOTA membership assists in these efforts:
- Allows IOTA to provide continuing education. Members receive a discount at IOTAs continuing education conference and access to practice-focused courses throughout the state;
- Allows IOTA members to collaborate with educational programs within Iowa;
- Encourages research and practices grounded in research to promote the profession;
- Facilitates communication within the state. Members receive newsletters, membership directory, have access membership-only sections of the website, and can network within districts and practice areas;
- Supports lobbying efforts to protect association and consumers; promote the profession;
- Able to request scholarship assistance for academic studies, postgraduate work, or professional-level courses (not to be used for continuing education); and
- Advocacy efforts to improve OT practice in Iowa.
