Please mark your cal­en­dars now for IOTA Hill Day Feb­ru­ary 1, 2023 at 1pm. Our lob­by­ist will have talk­ing points pre­pared to dis­cuss with your rep­re­sen­ta­tives. This is a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to get involved and advo­cate for our profession!

A few high­lights of 2022: 

• Occu­pa­tion­al ther­a­pists are now able to indi­cate need for a hand­i­cap permit.
• Meet­ing with the Iowa Med­ic­aid Direc­tor to high­light recent changes to the autho­riza­tion and review process­es cre­at­ing dif­fi­cul­ty in access­ing OT services.
• Iowa joined the OT licen­sure compact.
• East­er Lake Park ren­o­va­tions under­way with input from local occu­pa­tion­al ther­a­py providers. The park will become one of the most acces­si­ble parks in the nation.
